There are many different volunteer roles at Nature’s Nanny:
- You can work hands-on with the birds and help with their medical treatment
- You can help prepare meals and clean cages
- You can work with the education birds and attend events
- You can work on Nature's Nanny’s social media pages and website
- The options are endless! We can find the right volunteering role for you!
To become a volunteer, you will first attend a training session at Nature’s Nanny. You will learn about bird rehabilitation, the proper procedures, and state and federal rehabilitation rules and regulations. These rules and regulations include obtaining a Virginia wildlife rehabilitation permit. You will also meet all the amazing birds at Nature’s Nanny, including barred owls, great horned owls, barn owls, screech owls, red-tailed hawks, kestrels, crows, and many other species.
